The greens on the course have been improving drastically since the disease struck two weeks ago. The greens were treated and have been on a very active fertilizer/water/chemical routine since. On Tuesday, the greens were verticut and over seeded for the second time this season (third time on some of the really bad patches). This time, however, we have top-dressed with much better supply of greens sand than the original sand we were shipped. Typically this seed germinates in 7-10 days. We are also out hand topdressing the bad patches. This will give the existing turf something to grow into and fill in the small spaces on the greens.
Congrats to Ben Zubrycki who scored the first Hole in One of the season at the Wheat City. Ben aced the 176 yard, 3rd hole using a 2 hybrid. The ace was witnessed by Graydon Cramer and Jeff Olson.
The irrigation system has been getting a workout this week with the extreme heat and lack of moisture. Dryer patches are starting to show where we do not have any coverage or where the sprinkler heads may be broken. We have made significant progress on the irrigation systems wiring problems that we started the season with.
The cart path on #10 has been cut in and we are adding gravel to its base. We aim at having this done by end of day Friday.
All the lower cart paths that are not paved will be paved this summer. This includes hole #1, #2, #6, parts of #8, #10 and #12.
